Bye Bye 2011 and Hello 2012!!

First off I must say what an amazing year!!! 2011 was our busiest year yet with 28 weddings and numerous portrait sessions, we got some seriously amazing images! I sincerely appreciate and love all of my wonderful clients, thank you for your help in making this our best year yet! For those of you who are new to SLWP welcome to the family! We look forward to covering all of your memories! To all of my returning clients THANK YOU!! We appreciate your loyalty and trust!! I so enjoy seeing my clients again and again as I cover different aspects of their lives and I know they enjoy not having to find a new photographer every time a new memory needs preserved.

For 2012 and on I have decided that in order to preserve my sanity and continue to give each one of my clients 150% of my best we will only be taking on a maximum of 20 weddings per year. With this plan there will be some additional time that will allow me to work more closely with each of my clients while getting to know them even better and helping to plan their weddings. With my experience and knowledge of the photographic and wedding industry I will be a great value to you! And the more involved I am the closer we will get which will result in a much more relaxed atmosphere and even more gorgeous images!!

Now most of you probably participated in or at least saw my 2011 Favorite Photo Contest on Facebook. Let me first say that it was soooooo hard selecting those images!! I had literally hundreds of favorite images from last year and really had to just pick a few! The everything BUT weddings part of the contest is over and you can see the winners and their prizes here. The Weddings part of the contest has been broken into 2 parts and part 1 is open for voting now! To vote and see contestants click here. I am so excited for this contest as weddings are my specialty as well as my favorite! I thought selecting favorites for Part 1 of the contest was hard but this is turning out to be way harder!! There are just so many images that I love it’s almost impossible to pick just a few! But we will manage and you may follow and Like SLWP on facebook to see the latest!

Again I thank you all so much for your continued support and love for SLWP! Most of all I thank God for giving me this wonderful talent to share with the world!! I am so looking forward to where life takes SLWP in the coming year!

This time of year is CRAZY busy for me with Family sessions, as everyone is gearing up for the holidays, extended family is in town, therefore it’s time for that annual family portrait! This session is with a cute little family from Longmont, The Wessleys.

I had a great time with you guys in the early morning dew!! Thank you for being such great sports with the chilliness!

The Maxwells

My Aunt is the Branch Manager at Wells Fargo in Greeley and has been fabulous with referrals! I just love everyone that she works with! This is how I met Carolyn. Her daughter and grand daughter were in town just for the weekend and we had to get a session in and done before she left. We decided to go to Namaqua Park in Loveland that Saturday morning and thankfully we were blessed with fantastic weather! I had a wonderful time getting to know this family and capturing their memories! This cute little girl is Sophie. She was such a joy to photograph! I find that when photographing children you must get on their level right away, ask them questions, get to know them a bit so they feel comfortable. This was very easy with little Sophie:) Enjoy!

Now who wouldn’t want to have an image like this with grandma?!?!? How cute is that!Sophie is an explorer and very intrigued with nature. I just loved how she would find little things like this and show them to me.There is a little story here. About 5 minutes prior to this I whispered in Sophies ear telling her to go give her mom a big kiss when I told her to. So I waited about 5 minutes and then I said to Sophie “do you remember what I told you?”, she says “yeah”, and I say “ok go ahead its time” and this is the shot I got. How cute is that!I love it when I tell a family to bear hug and they realy do! It makes for such a fun and cute shot.I am pretty sure that they thought I was completely crazy when I told them to lay down like this. What do you think now?? It’s totally cute huh!:)And last but certainly not least my favorite!

Carolyn thank you so much for inviting me into your lives for a spell! I had a blast with you and your family and I look forward to more sessions in the future! Thanks for being patient:)

So 2008 is over and what a great year it was! I have learned, laughed, loved and shot alot!! I had 11 weddings last year and they were all fabulous! Thank you to all my wonderful clients for giving me the oppurtunity to work with you. I have compiled some of my favorite shots of the year so enjoy!
